Ancient Forest Landmark Trail

An ancient forest in the heart of the highlands of Scotland if full of life.  From the birds high in the trees to the red squirrels darting about, life is exploding from the pine trees.  The forest floor is a colourful mash of dark blue bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus), red cowberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) and the gentle pink of common heather (Calluna vulgaris) filling the spaces between the mighty pines. The walk through the tree canopy at Landmark in Carrbridge gives an insight into this diminishing habitat.

The woodland floor in the Scottish Highlands is a unique and ancient habitat.
